Scholarship

The Congolese government offers scholarships to certain categories of students enrolled at the Marien Ngouabi University.  Applicants for these scholarships must meet certain requirements set by the Directorate General of University Services and Social Affairs (DGUSSA) at the Ministry of Tertiary Education. Students enrolled at the schools and institutes of the Marien Ngouabi University as well as at the Faculty of Health Sciences automatically receive a scholarship in the first year since their enrollment is subject to a successful completion of the enrollment test.

Conditions for the Award of a Scholarship

  • a high school baccalaureate;
  • be registered at one of Marien Ngouabi University’s institutions;
  • be under 22 years old at the time of obtaining a high school baccalaureate;
  • successfully completed the first and second semester for those going into their second year;
  • be under 23 years old for people with disabilities;
  • be under 30 years old at the time of applying for a scholarship, and;
  • be a Congolese citizen. 

Conditions for Scholarship Renewal

  • passed and admitted into the next school year;
  • have not repeated a more than one term;
  • have not received a scholarship for more than six years for two school years, and;
  • have not received a high-school baccalaureate more than 10 years ago.

Conditions for Reinstatement of Scholarship

  • Have successfully completed two terms following scholarship suspension;
  • Be no more than 30 years of age;
  • have not received a scholarship for more than six years for two school years;
  • have not received a high-school baccalaureate more than 10 years ago;
  • beneficiary of a cancellation of an academic year or holding a medical certificate issued or countersigned by a doctor from the Directorate General of University Services and Social Affairs

Requirements for Scholarship Application

To apply for a scholarship applicants must prepare an application comprising of the following required documents:

  • a completed application form addressed to the Ministry of Tertiary Education
  • proof of registration for the current year;
  • a birth certificate copy;
  • a copy of academic curriculum;
  • a copy of high school baccalaureate certified by the Examinations and Competitive Examinations Board or the Education Administration Board and exam marks from the Marien Ngouabi University ;
  • a certificate of citizenship, and ;
  • a medical certificate issued or countersigned by a doctor from the Directorate General of University Services and Social Affairs
