Cultural activities take place at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities is at the heart of cultural activities at the Marien Ngouabi University, providing a place where students can join theatre or poetry groups. The Bayardelle Theatre Company is very active in supporting cultural activities at the University.

The Bayardelle Theatre Company (BTC)

The Bayardelle Theatre Company was established in 2010 by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), Dieudonné Tsokini, and a group of FAH students. The group’s objective is to encourage artistic talent in the student population.

Since the date of its first performance at the university in June 2010, Bayardelle has showcased plays, storytelling, music, slam (a form of urban poetry) and dance. The University has been represented by the Bayardelle Theatre Company at multiple cultural activities organized by the Ministry of High Education, labor unions, as well as the Rectorate.

As the years go by, BTC continues to attract students from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities as well as students from other faculties of the Marien Ngouabi University. Since the creation of the Company, every year on June 5, FAH organizes “cultural days.”
